Artist Statement
My work represents an ongoing visual investigation informed by experience and memory of time, place and landscape. Of interest to me are boundaries between things, the interplay between geometric structural rigidity, expression and fluidity and of the repetition and development of motifs.
For me, printmaking is construction, making and improvisation, at the heart of which is the printing press. I explore imagery through intaglio collagraph, drypoint and carbarundum platemaking techniques. I improvise, layer, construct and vary, exploring the space between predetermination and chance.
